Elizabeth, I love this tattoo too!Fun fact: Apparently it is now officially acceptable in French schools today (in Canada at least) to spell the word “éléphant” with either a “ph” or an “f”. Weird, eh? You can now also say things like “les chevals” instead of “les chevaux”. This came up in my class the other day… We were talking about how language is always changing. This is obvious when you’re comparing, I dunno, Shakespearian English with anything written today (in English obviously) but it’s also evident in simple conversations between a young adult and someone in their 80’s. Languages are always in evolution. That’s how the elephant example came up. A woman in my class has a daughter in elementary school and was angry about some of the things she was learning because “it isn’t proper French”. I agree that it’s super weird  and as my prof was saying “hard to let go of sometimes” but it makes sense that it would happen. Ottawa is a bilingual city and French and English are in constant contact with each other. Anyway, I guess that was fun or useless fact. I always hear people complaining that that class is boring and pointless. Makes me feel somewhat embarrassed to admit how much I love it, haha. But I do, I love it.
